Book Summary:

In which George Takei shares his firsthand experience being Japanese-American during World War II and how the government's legalized racism saw fit to put him and his family, along with the rest of the Japanese-Americans in the USA, in internment camps. It explores the injustice thrust upon them by the patriarchy, and his father’s trust in the system, along with the harsh choices his mother was forced to take, all while attempting to keep some sense of normalism in the family as they suffered through the conditions of the internment camp.
