Book Summary:

In which young girl Paro and her family are greatly impacted by Partition of British India into Pakistan and India mostly due to religious differences. As a young Hindu, she must travel through a world shaped by deities. Blending poetry, prose, and illustration, we follow her journey into finding her identity and recovering from trauma. As Paro struggles with her sexuality and being herself in India, she gets sent away to her grandparents where she learns the women in her family have divine ancestry and are able to access it through Taro. She meets different Hindu goddesses who help her through it all, each teaching her a different value.
