Book Summary:

In which a young girl is diagnosed as deaf at age four and is forced to grow up with a hearing aid strapped to her chest. When Cece enters a new school at ten years old, she must struggle with making real friends, along with sparking a romance with her first crush, and going to her first sleepover. Instead of thinking of her disabilities as a disadvantage, Cece decides to view her hearing aid as a superpower. She uses her enhanced hearing to listen to her teachers from afar, envisioning herself as superhero “El Deafo” in the process.
